This portrait of Walt Whitman was individually cast of 100 percent cotton paper pulp from a negative mold and the patina was hand applied by the artist with graphite. The type is handset Centaur printed letterpress by the typographer. The text is 24 point roman from Mackenzie & Harris Inc. San Francisco. The paper, Hosho, is handmade in Japan.
