"The dying enthusiast to his friend", first published in 1832, has been taken from The Collected Works by James Clarence Mangan, the Irish Academic Press 1996. The silhouette, the sole portrait of J. Mangan during his lifetime, dating from 1822, and its reverse are reproduced by courtesy of the IRA. The text was handset in the Gravure type and printed in Venetian red and black to celebrate on March 13 the birthday of the famous printer and librarian from Zoeterwoude Kees "De Uitvreter" Thomassen. Done in the Ballroom during wintertime in 54 copies on Hollandsch and 12 on very old blue laid paper. Not for sale.
