Katoomba : The Wayzgoose Press, 2001

This is the fourth in a series of four monographs concerned with the evolution of reading traditions and book practices over the past 2000 years. Written, designed and produced entirely at the press by Mike Hudson and Jadwiga Jarvis. Examples of pages from the books shown were printed from line blocks. The text was hand set in 14 pt.Plantin, with captions in 14 pt. Bembo. Printed letterpress on Mohawk Superfine 148 gsm and sewn into Tomohawk 216 gsm covers. An edition of 60 signed and numbered copies. This is copy No. [52]. [Gesigneerd door Mike Hudson en Jadwiga Jarvis]. F.O.N.T. The two-colour wood initial letters used in this collection are a version of De Vinne. The type was named after Theodore L. De Vinne, one of the most prominent American printers at the turn of the 20th century. Designed in 1893 by Gustav Schroeder at the Central Type Foundry of St. Louis, it was copied, with variations, by several other type foundries.
