230 copies of this book were printed for the subscribers and for presentation to Douglas Cleverdon on his eightieth birthday, 17 January 1983. The text is based on a talk given to the Double Crown Club, the Wynkyn de Worde Society, and on several other occasions. The book was designed and the letterpress was printed by Sebastian Carter at the Rampant Lions Press, Cambridge; it was set by The Stellar Press in Times New Roman designed by Stanley Morison, with displayed lines in Gill Sans; the paper is Hahnemühle mould-made supplied by R.K. Burt; and the plates were selected and printed by Christopher Skelton at the Press at Wellingborough. This is number [192].
