This edition, completed in June 1978, has been set by hand in 14-point Caslon type and printed on Velin Arches of 160 gsm by John and Rosalind Randle and Miriam Macgregor at the Whittington Press in Gloucestershire. The illustrations have been printed from the original wood-engravings on Japanese hand-made paper. 500 copies have been made for sale, in addition to copies for private presentation. Copies number 1 to number 25 are quarter-bound in morocco with Richard de Bas hand-made endpapers by Alf Brazier and John Mitchell and are accompanied by a numbered portfolio of artist's proofs of all of the wood-engravings. Copies number 26 to number 100 are quarter-bound in morocco with Richard de Bas hand-made endpapers by Alf Brazier and John Mitchell and are accompanied by a numbered artist's proof of the cover design. Copies number 101 to number 500 are quarter-bound in buckram by Weatherby Woolnough of Wellingborough. The edition has been seen through the press by Ridley Burnett and Harold Smith.
