This article appeared for the first time in "Music & Letters", vol. 37, 4, London 1955, pag. 350-355. At the request of the publisher the author made some alterations & additions. The matter was cast and hand composed in the Bembo, serie 270 of Monotype, print size 12 point Didot, and printed on a Korrex press. The paper is by T.H. Saunders, with laid & deckle edge. The run edition is 100 copies.
