One hundred and eighty copies of Hoi Barbaroi: A Quarter-century at Barbarian Press have been published in November, 2004. Of these, 120 copies, bound by Rasmussen Bindery in quarter scarlet cloth with printed paper & slipcased, constitute the regular edition. 60 deluxe copies, in quarter black morocco with printed paper & slipcased with a scarlet cloth portfolio containing an assortiment of ephemera from the press, are bound by Simone Mynen. The types are Bembo roman and Fairbanks italic with Castellar for display; the papers are Heine mouldmade, Mohawk Superfine, and Vintage Velvet. We would like to thank the many people whose help and contibutions made this book much beter than it would otherwise have been: Michael Barnes at Abacus Prepress, who scanned & oversaw the printing of the photographs & the facsimile of early bibliographic entries; David Evans, for his masterful & telling photographs; Simon Brett, Robert Bringhurst, and Sjaak Hubregtse, for taking the time to write so disarmingly and wisely; Anik See, for help with distributing and setting type; Eilis Carpentier, Morfa Gowans, and Fred Smith for dissing type; & our daughter Apollonia for a myriad helps both large and small. The type was cast by Michael Bixler in Skaneateles, New York, and largely handset. The offset printing is by Western Printing, Burnaby, B.C. Utile dulci.
