Proverbs of hell

Approximately two hundred copies have been printed at Adagio: The Private Press of Leonard F. Bahr. The display type is Houtsneeletter, designed by A. van der Vossen. The ornament is Stempel's Pan-Schmuck 6708. The text of "A memorable fancy" is Hermann Zapf's Palatino. The type used for the proverbs is Trump Mediaeval Italic designed by Georg Trump. The alternate type used for the proverbs is Jaguar, also designed by Georg Trump. The reason for using an alternate type was simply to introduce a change of pace at convenient points in the text. All of the types were set and spaced by hand and printed one page at a time on a 12x18 Chandler & Price Craftsman. The text paper is Frankfurt; the wrapper is Canson Mi-Teintes. Of the edition, this is copy number [100]. Printed slowly during various parts of 1982. [Gesigneerd door Leonard F. Bahr].
